Apple has introduced the Jailbreak Detection API in June 2010 with iOS 4.0. Now Apple has removed or disabled this Jailbreak Detection API fromiOS 4.2.1. Some third party developers use their own methods to determine whether the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad was jailbroken or not but this Jailbreak Detection API provides the easiest way to determine whether the operating system was jailbroken or not.
From Official Web Page:
This detection API let the MDM applications in effect ask the operating system if it had been compromised. Jailbreak exploits typically change a number of operating system files, and exploit one or another low-level OS features to let users directly load their own or third-party applications.
Third party MDM apps such as AirWatch or Afaria uses this API to detect whether the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad was jailbroken or not. There is no explanation was given by Apple on why this detection API was removed. Share your views about this news in the comment section below. Stay tuned with us for more updates.
